Mobile Mammography
mammo_nurse&patient-small.jpg The Mt. Carmel Regional Cancer Center's Mobile Mammography Van is coming to a location near you! Thanks to a generous grant from Avon and oversight by the Center for Disease Control, the Cancer Center is now bringing breast healthcare and other health services to women throughout the region. The mobile unit is helping to eliminate barriers by making it faster and more convenient for women to have a screening mammogram, clinical breast and/or cervical exam in their hometown or even at their place of work.

The Mobile Mammography Unit is wheelchair-accessible. It is also accredited by the American College of Radiology and is certified by the FDA to perform screening mammograms. The Mobile Mammography Services meet all the requirements of the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA).

Mt. Carmel Regional Cancer Center Mobile Mammography services follow a strict quality control philosophy. The program features:

  • A state-of-the-art mobile mammography unit
  • An all-female team of friendly, reassuring, knowledgeable, and highly experienced nurse practitioners and radiologic technologists.
  • Interpretation of mammogram results by a dedicated board-certified radiologist.
  • Medical supervision by a physician with special training in mammography
