Clinics, Screening, and Support

Screenings
Ongoing screenings for cancer are offered to the public throughout the year at Mt. Carmel Regional Cancer Center. We are committed to providing education and information to the public on cancer prevention, detection and treatment. Click on the events & classes link to find the location and date of the next scheduled cancer screening.

Community Education
Patients at Mt. Carmel Regional Cancer Center need not face their disease alone. For many cancer patients, support groups help them cope better with the symptoms, pain and stress of their disease, and improve their quality of life. Cancer Center staff members lead a general cancer support group as well as more specific breast cancer and prostate cancer meetings.

The Cancer Center staff, nurse practitioners and physicians are available for community outreach lectures at local businesses, schools and community events. Our cancer experts can provide a group information regarding cancer prevention, early detection and treatment.

For further information about support groups or speakers, call the Cancer Center at 620.235.7900.

Other Support
Emotional and spiritual support is always available through individual counseling with Cancer Center social workers and Pastoral Care staff. Home care services from Mt. Carmel Home Care and Hospice can also be arranged by Cancer Center Staff.
